 Kram Welcomes Bell AI Centre

Michael Kram, MP for Regina-Wascana, today welcomed the announcement of the Bell AI Fabric Centre investment in Regina.  
“I would first like to congratulate Bell Canada for making the single largest capital investment in Saskatchewan’s history. As a graduate of the University of Regina’s Computer Science Department, I find it particularly exciting to think of the innovation, prosperity and career opportunities this initiative will bring to Regina.” 
“Particularly exciting is Bell’s plan to create 500 permanent jobs and to establish Saskatchewan as the hub for its national AI initiative, with a head office right here in Regina.” 
“I would also like to congratulate Premier Scott Moe in establishing the economic climate that allowed this investment to happen. Premier Moe’s government has consistently prioritized investments in both physical infrastructure and a highly skilled workforce in order to create the conditions that are allowing our province to grow and diversify its economy.” 
Kram noted that, under the terms of the “Bring Your Own Power” agreement signed with the province, the project will include the phased implementation of an additional 900 megawatts of power, creating still more jobs and enhancing the province’s energy resilience. 
“In these times, it is vital for all of us, in Saskatchewan and across Canada, to focus on our country’s sovereignty, economic growth and resilience. These are objectives that cut across party lines and jurisdictions. This was a team effort, and everyone involved, including the federal government, deserves thanks for the outcome.”
“This investment will create thousands of good-paying jobs and paycheques for the people of Saskatchewan. I look forward to representing Bell AI and its employees as constituents in Regina-Wascana.”

 For immediate release July 13, 2022  Kram to Help Lead Investigation into Rogers Outage   Michael Kram, Member of Parliament for Regina-Wascana, will be helping  to lead a federal investigation into last week's nation-wide Rogers Communications  outage.  "The Rogers outage showed just how vulnerable Canada has become in our  current telecommunications environment. All across the country, regular people  had their lives disrupted no matter whether they were Rogers customers or not.  Not only did cellphones and internet go down but debit networks went down,  making it difficult for people to do something as simple as buying groceries.
