CBC News: Retired teacher tickled by tribute from Sask. MP in House of Commons

  CBC News, May 14, 2026 Most seven-year-olds have big ideas about what they want to be when they grow up.  Perhaps a doctor, an astronaut or a professional athlete. But it’s unlikely most of them will go on to do their childhood dream job. Regina-Wascana Conservative MP Michael Kram, 47, is an exception. He decided to become a politician 40 years ago, when his Grade 2 teacher, Mrs. Rose Klein, did a simulated election in her social studies class. So when Kram stood up in the House of Commons on April 24 to talk about amendments to the Canada Elections Act, and his disdain for long-ballot protests , he seized the opportunity to pay tribute to Klein.
